Contrary to your coverage of the Association for Citizenship Teaching conference, teachers are not being asked to stream children into citizenship ability sets or label pupils with citizenship levels (TES, July 4).

Colleagues at the conference shared positive ideas about assessment that involves children in their own assessment. In other words, assessment activities that are fun and engaging - a million miles away from pinning numbers on young citizens.
