London Power Networks (LPN) has an electricity site aimed at children of all ages, with a section for teachers and parents too. The students’

sections of Electricity in Education (requires Flash, version 6), designed for the curriculum, are broken down into: “40 watts” for 5 to 10-year-olds; “60 watts” for 11 to 16-year-olds, and “100” watts for 16-plus. An on-screen Michael Faraday guides visitors to the relevant information about electricity and icons of light bulbs indicate the presence of games.

Electricity in Education is run by Maureen Peters and Janice Howells who visit around 450 schools a year.
