New College, Huddersfield, has agreed to adopt the national contract for sixth-form colleges, after talks with ACAS, the arbitration organisation. Staff went on a one-day strike after the college attempted to bring in a different contract. Barry Fawcett, assistant secretary of the National Union of Teachers, said: “We are very pleased that the dispute has been resolved and hope that good relations will now prevail.”
