pound;5K giveaway art

- S6 pupils studying Advanced Higher art at St Thomas of Aquin’s High in Edinburgh have donated their pound;5,000 prize money as winners of the John Byrne Award to create a purpose-built art room for children with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties at the specialist daycare centre, Forteviot House, at Edinburgh’s Royal Hospital for Sick Children.

Gender bias careers

The government has set up a pound;250,000 fund to address gender inequality in Scottish industry. Careerwise Scotland will encourage more girls to consider careers in science and engineering, an issue highlighted by the Science and Engineering Education Advisory Group. The initiative will be funded through Opportunities for All over the next three years.
