Day and knight

History

Primary pupils can learn about archaeology from a medieval knight discovered at Stirling Castle. Historic Scotland, Archaeology Scotland and the City of Glasgow College worked with Cambusbarron Primary to create the medieval knight forensic handling box, based on a replica of the warrior’s skeleton. It is hoped the materials will appeal to all pupils.

Race to success

Sport

A record 2,000 young athletes from 71 primaries took part in South Lanarkshire’s cross-country championships. The heats, run by the council’s leisure and culture department and local sports councils, required P6 girls and boys to cover 1,000 metres and the P7 athletes 1,400 metres. The top 10 winners met for the final at Hamilton Palace Sports Ground.
