Around 20 years.

Why did you start?

As a classroom practitioner it gave me ideas to implement; as a manager, the opportunity to share innovation and good practice.

What do you read first?

I scan for articles that interest me and challenge my beliefs.

What should there be more of in TESS?

More examples of what makes for an excellent education, warts and all! Not always for areas of deprivation.

Who would you like to see writing in TESS?

Gurus and leaders in their fields from outwith Scotland, presenting views on Scottish education and Curriculum for Excellence.

What’s the best thing we’ve done?

Changing the format. Giving good balance of articles: news, features, comment and analysis.

What is TESS?

A great read. A thinking paper for educationalists.
