Support improving

Further education colleges are getting significantly better at giving support to individuals with special educational needs, research being presented at the British Educational Research Association meeting at York next week will reveal.

The University of Edinburgh study of 637 school-leavers in 47 colleges and five other training centres suggests that better assessment and monitoring have brought improvements at an "accelerating" rate.
