Support staff threaten second strike

School support staff are threatening to force a second wave of school closures in their dispute over government plans to force them to work longer for a full pension.

Regional strikes by members of Unison are planned for April 25 to 27 unless talks between the Government and local government unions are successful.

The union said last month’s strike by teaching assistants, dinner ladies, caretakers and admin staff closed more than 17,000 schools.
