The proximity of the Atlantic coastline has always attracted students to Cornwall College but now they can turn their hobby into a coaching qualification. Cornwall has become the first college in the UK to become an Accredited Training Centre for the British Surfing Association (BSA) and will shortly be offering a number of surf coaching-based courses. Russell Lawrence, director of sport and public services, said: “The courses are not just for sports students but for any learners enthusiastic about surfing and want to gain an extra qualification while at college.”
