Scottish Swimming has announced the appointment of Alastair Johnson as its new national youth coach. Mr Johnson will work closely with national coach Chris Mart. He will lead and direct programmes for Scotland’s best young swimmers and their coaches, helping them to understand the commitment, skills and conditioning required to reach the top levels of performance, says Alan Lynn, Scottish Swimming’s director of technical services. Scottish Swimming has also appointed a national diving development officer, Steve Gladding, and is introducing a national awards scheme with 12 progressive grades of diving as it seeks to expand the sport
