During last Friday’s Today programme on Radio 4, heard at 7.30am on the way to another exciting day at school, I listened to Chancellor Kenneth Clarke being interviewed.

“Why is Britain only 12th out of 17 nations in giving overseas aid?” asked the interviewer.

Kenneth Clarke replied “You can do anything with league tables”!

I love a good laugh in the mornings. I expect that the Government has now changed its mind about key stage 2 results.
