The Society of Headmasters and Headmistresses of Independent Schools, which represents 70 boys’ and co-educational schools, is considering taking legal action to stop the publication of exam league tables in their present form. Heads are concerned their schools are being compared with the top independent schools and the collation of the tables does not credit the exam success of students from abroad.
