Compilers of the latest issue of Earnock High parents’ newsletter must have felt slightly schizophrenic. They had to record the ongoing battle with South Lanarkshire Council to save the Hamilton school and prevent it merging with Blantyre High.
One can only imagine how hard they had to swallow when they also reported how “delighted” first-year pupil Fraser Murray was to find himself at the Commonwealth Education Ministers’ conference in the company of one of the authors of the school’s possible demise, education director Maggi Allan.
Not only that, the newsletter noted with approval that the director’s address to the Commonwealth delegates was on the theme of - you’ve guessed it, partnership.
