Pupils’ apparently inexhaustible enthusiasm for football can be turned to good account with a key stage 2 programme supported by Adidas. Team Football, launched by England captain David Beckham, emphasises the importance of teamwork, health and fair play as well as game skills. Subscribing schools are entitled to free coaching and attractive resources for use in the classroom. Thse include lesson plans for English (writing match reports), maths (manipulating data from results tables, calculating pitch dimensions) and science (exploring friction, nutrition and hydration) - all good ways to feed active minds in healthy bodies.
