Teddy Bear day

Did you know it’s International Teddy Bear Day on October 27? So far it is celebrated in the UK and the US. Now libraries in Scandinavia are joining in. The event is a good excuse for children to dig out their teddies for a whole range of activities from reading stories to acting them out. This year is better than most because it marks 100 years of the teddy bear. An internet search on “teddy bears” can yield a wealth of leads, but Dutchman Wim Coumans’s site bundles up many of the best at: www.cobweb.nlwcoumansteddie.htm and www.bearmuseum.co.ukhistory1.htm
