Belmont Academy is the school to beat when the Scottish Schools’ Tennis Cup resumes this term. The Ayr school defends the boys’ and the girls’ trophies after winning both last term.

Belmont Academy is aiming for its third successive girls’ title after beating Craigholme 4-2 in last term’s final. The boys made it a double victory by beating Linlithgow Academy 52-40 on games after the match had finished 3-3.

It was only the second occasion in the history of the competition that the same school captured both titles.
