15 schools to strike over academy plans

Staff at 15 schools in Derbyshire have voted for a day of strike action over plans to convert them into academies. Members of the NASUWT at the schools say they will strike after the half-term holidays. Eighty-four members of NASUWT at John Port School in Etwall will also strike next Thursday.
