The GTC's visitation committee should subject college of education psychology departments to much closer scrutiny than they would appear to have done before, says an SSTA report on the training of secondary teachers. "By and large, " says the report, "lecturers in psychology have failed to convince trainee teachers of the relevance of their subject. Their efficiency as lecturers often meets with criticism also."
