On the casting vote of Councillor R. M. Knox, chairman, Edinburgh education committee agreed on Monday to recommend that the Government be urged to reconsider the decision to raise the school leaving age until the supply of teachers was adequate, and to decide instead to reduce the size of classes and ensure that all children should have full-time education.
