A dozen uses for skills

More largesse for FE emerged last week when Education Secretary Fiona Hyslop announced Pounds 1.8 million backing for 12 projects which aim to support the effective use of skills in the workplace; nine are college-based. It is part of a drive to improve skills utilisation, the so-called "conundrum" in which a highly-qualified population does not generate high levels of productivity.
