A fair-trade feast for your class

17th September 2004 at 01:00
Does your class play fair? If so, they could be on the receiving end of a great match. Each week this term we are giving away a box of Dubble fair-trade chocolate bars and a match-quality Team football from Fair Deal.

The chocolate comes from a Ghanaian co-operative, and the football is hand-stitched by adults in Pakistan, who earn a fair wage for the job. So as well as being a top-quality piece of kit, it is helping give child labour the boot.

Beverly Kenyon's Year 5 and 6 classes at the Mead community primary, Witshire, recently returned from a five-day residential in the Brecon Beacons. Throughout the caving, climbing, abseiling and problem-solving, Ms Kenyon was inspired by their determination. Despite poor weather, they supported each other and took time to appreciate the landscape and wildlife.

If your class deserves a treat for fair play, email friday@tes.co.uk to tell us why. Mark your message Dubblefootball offer. For information on fair trade, www.dubble.co.uk; www.fairdealtrading.co.uk.
