A living hell

10th February 2006 at 00:00
The Last Witness, at In Flanders Fields Museum, in Ypres, Belgium, from April 8-November 19, evokes trench warfare at Ypres through "a silent but telling witness", the battlefield landscape - described as "the last witness to a mad war". The landscape is resurrected through period pictures, films, drawings and objects recently unearthed. Eyewitness accounts are placed in the landscape where they originated. Projections, scale models and CD-Roms give insight into enduring a living hell. Tel +33 (0) 57 239 450; www.inflandersfields.be.
