Bullshit in education is nothing new. Indeed many have made a career out of it. But Glasgow has added a new dimension. As part of the community safety initiative, the protective services department has issued green bags and pooper-scoopers to heads so they can flush away any trace of dog dirt from playgrounds.

The campaign is labelled "Smug Dug" and heads have been asked to help eliminate "this anti-social behaviour".

One head was not too impressed. "Forget Higher Still. Smug Dug is the new strategy for social inclusion. I wonder who is going to tell the dugs?"
