Two months ago a 12-year-old boy who raped his teacher was detained for life.

The boy, who is one of Britain's youngest convicted rapists, attacked the woman as she sat next to him during a one-to-one teaching session at a special needs centre in County Durham last November. After the attack, he stole her car and drove it for 30 miles before dumping it.

The boy, who has severe learning difficulties and had been sexually and physically abused from a young age, admitted raping the woman, who is in her 30s, and the theft.
