Actress aids literacy drive

A CHARITY that tackles illiteracy, by providing volunteers to help children learn to read, has launched a major fundraising drive. Actress Prunella Scales was among the thousands of people across the nation who ere served a cup of coffee in return for a donation of pound;1 to Volunteer Reading Help. Latest figures show one in five adults in England has literacy skills below the expected level for an 11-year-old.
