Adjudicator backs closures

An independent adjudicator has approved the closure of three schools in west Cumbria.

Garth and Harrington infant schools and Harrington juniors were earmared for closure because of falling numbers.

Adjudicator Tony Webster said the county council was "acting appropriately" and a new all-through primary school will be created on the junior school site.
