Alcohol admission

One in five secondary school pupils admitted drinking alcohol in the previous week when questioned for a Department of Health survey.

The study of 11 to 15-year-olds, carried out last year, also found that 17 per cent had taken drugs in the previous year. However, the proportion admitting to drinking and drug-taking was lower than in 2005.
