All you need to know about PE

We have noted last week's letter on "Unlocking PE", and would like to provide some information about points it raises.

The letter asks: "When can we reasonably expect to hear the outcome of the consultation" on physical education qualifications? Arrangements for the revised PE courses were published last May. We also hosted a series of seminars across the country.

In early March, we published the latest in a series of letters we have published to track progress with this particular subject review and to clarify its exact nature and scope.

All theses reports, investigations and letters are available on our website ( More generally, as we make progress through the wider subject-by-subject National Qualifications review, we have systems in place to ensure a smooth "old to new" transition process to make sure no candidate is disadvantaged while the NQ catalogue is being transformed.
