Yes, a second Pepys has arrived at the Department for Education and Skills.

Despite the girly tone, it is the bearded, 40-year-old Jim Knight, MP for Dorset. In the Great Reshuffle, he moved from being minister for rural affairs, landscape and biodiversity to - er - minister of state for schools. Rushing to get the news to his online diary, he even got the date wrong: Friday May 6.
