The new White Paper Schools: achieving success is full of the usual rhetoric about "excellence", and the importance of basic literacy standards. The effect is somewhat spoilt on page two, chapter one with comments about the importance of supporting "successlul (sic) schools" . We are sure responsibility for the error lies with a minion, but who was the lead author of the paper? Step forward Mr Andrew Adonis.
