Angel David

18th December 1998 at 00:00
A CHRISTMAS offering arrives from David Blunkett's spokesman (sorry, can't reveal his name) and it's not only a card, but a useful gift.

On the front, an angel hovers in a painting by a student at Hatcham Wood School in London. Even more festively, the back lists "DFEE useful numbersHelplines". Jolly comprehensive - the National Year of Reading office, New Deal and even the Disability Helpline are all there. It will be pinned by the Diary's desk long after the Christmas bunting is down.
