Anger at bar on chastity rings
Staff at Millais school in Horsham, West Sussex, said the "purity rings"
were inconsistent with its uniform policy, which forbids jewellery.
Lydia Playfoot, 15, who has been wearing the ring to school since 2004, said: "It's really unfair. The Muslim girls get to wear their headscarves to school and they get to wear trousers in PE."
Leon Nettley, headteacher, said: "The school is not convinced that pupils'
rights have been interfered with by the application of the school's uniform policy."
