Animated Chaucer

20th May 2005 at 01:00
Many schools enjoy using films in the Animated Shakespeare series. Now the Animated Canterbury Tales, developed by the same team, is out on DVD. The visual effects are fine and varied, with stop-motion puppets in 3D (including a friendly Chaucer turning to talk confidentially to viewers) interacting with computerised and hand-drawn images. The Nun's Priest, the Knight, the Wife of Bath, the Pardoner and the Miller all tell their tales and the zest is undiminished after seven centuries. The Animated Canterbury Tales costs Pounds 12.99 and is on sale at most high street suppliers.
