Applications to undergraduate teacher training courses are down

* Applications to undergraduate teacher training courses are down, according to figures released today. Around 54,108 applications have been made for primary (BEd) education courses starting this autumn, down 11 per cent on last year, with 7,601 students applying for secondary teacher training, down 15.2 per cent.
