Appointment with closed door

14th February 1997 at 00:00
When a group of parents and governors of every political hue from my school met with Eric Forth to voice genuine concerns about various aspects of Government education policy, we were told in the most patronising tones that we couldn't expect to be taken seriously as we were a "vested interest group". We were unceremoniously shown the door with our hopes of constructive debate dashed. It's rather heartening to see him get a taste of his own medicine. At least we had an appointment.
