Morag MacLarty of Perth High continues to outrun rivals and at the Reebok Inter-Counties Cross-Country Championships in Nottingham was the only Scottish winner. She beat more-fancied English runners to win the under-17s race in 18 minutes 43 seconds.

Scotland's outstanding schools prospect is favourite to take the Scottish Schools cross-country title on March 8 in Irvine.

The Scottish Schools Indoor Athletics Championships, sponsored by Gordon Woodlands and staged at Glasgow's Kelvin Hall yesterday, drew entries from 677 pupils and 162 schools throughout Scotland.
