An audience that bit back

Thank you very much for publishing Julie Greenhough's piece last week. My memory runs back to an event over 16 years ago when secondary heads were gathered for a similar outing.

At the end of two painful days, a senior headteacher (once my boss) asked two questions of the showmen: "when did you last teach?" and "what are you being paid for this?"

Yet it still goes on. Glad to be out of it.
