Audit plaudits

Renfrewshire's education achievements have won praise from an Audit Scotland report on the council's services. The general conclusion is that the authority is "committed to further improvement" while it has "consistently performed well in educational attainment", keeping ahead of similar authorities despite pockets of significant deprivation. It also claims to be the only council in Scotland that has shown a consistent fall in pupil exclusion rates over the past five years.
