Bac on a high note

Top-performing students on the Welsh Baccalaureate have been commended for "outstanding" work by exam board WJEC. Scott Garwell, of Deeside College, was named Welsh Bac student of the year after his work was judged to be of an "extremely high standard". Five other Bac students were highly commended, including Ashleigh Woodward, from Caerleon Comprehensive, who is a former Miss Wales contestant whose work explored attitudes to beauty pageants.
