Back to basics

The Basic Skills Centre, in Kingston upon Hull, has opened as part of the local council's campaign to raise the achievement of pupils in the city's primary and secondary schools. Focusing on English and mathematics, it allows teachers to view up-to-date resources - many of them donated by publishers. Two curriculum support teachers offer advice and support to schools and individual teachers, both at the centre and in the classroom. It is based at the Education Centre, Coronation Road, Kingston upon Hull. Further details from the city council on 01482 615002.
