The best gift of all

Like most teachers, I have been given my fair share of chocolates and flowers by students who want to say thank you. They are always appreciated.

Some students are more lateral in their thinking. One year, a student made me a bag to hold my marking. Another gave me a bottle of holy water from Lourdes - presumably she thought I could do with a miracle.

But, this year, I've had the best present ever. When she found out I didn't have one, Gemma in my level 3 group gave me something I've wanted for as long as I can remember - a middle name. Thanks, Gemma!
