BETT's latest offerings

There's an app for everything at this year's exhibition, from products that make maths fun to programs that self-destruct in case of emergencies

Frog is showcasing its new primary school product, Frog Primary, and its new technology Frog Widgets on stand M50 at the BETT show. Frog Primary is a learning platform specially designed for communication and collaboration across the school and with parents. Users of Frog learning platforms can use the new Frog Widgets to personalise their own platforms, with students able to populate their own web pages with functions such as a game-based learning widget. Widgets can also integrate with third-party software such as the Softlink library management system. More information at www.frogtrade.com

Alfiesoft First-time BETT exhibitor Alfiesoft is offering visitors to its stand, INNPOD4, the chance to win an iPad by taking part in a free trial of Alfiesoft at their school. Assessment technology and services provider Alfiesoft offers fully online and onscreen QCAQCDA past papers, optional tests and mental mathematics. It is launching two new products at the show, Alfie qbank 2.5 and Alfie testbank, as well as two partner products, Collins GCSE Maths and TLO PLTS Progress. www.alfiesoft.com

Groupcall has launched an app for Apple devices that offers users an instant and secure copy of their MIS data. Groupcall Emerge allows users to take registration and send it to the school's MIS from a handheld device and gain access to timetables, attendance and behavioural data. The app is designed for iPhone or iPad with Wi-Fi and 3G, and iPod Touch with Wi-Fi. Groupcall says the app would be particularly useful during emergencies, when the school system is down or to access a pupil's records when they require medical attention. The data cannot be accessed by unauthorised people, and if the device is lost Emerge can be deactivated remotely and the data erased. www.groupcall.com

Q4 Technologies is offering visitors to stand Y15 the chance to win its new Go-Robo Programmer kit. Designed to teach robotics and control technology at KS2 and KS3, the plug-and-play set allows students to write software programs in a "fun and engaging way", Q4 says. www.q4technologies.com
