Blessed burden;Jotter

While Cardinal Thomas Winning was reading the riot act on Education Sunday about Catholic schools (TESS, last week) parishes up and down the country were marking the day.

Some had pupils carrying tokens of their school work during the offertory procession. One Saltcoats primary heidie, using Sunday to make a point about the burdens of Monday to Friday, brandished aloft a pile of paperwork and the 5-14 guidelines.
