Blitz of the bibliophiles

3rd December 2004 at 00:00
The Museums, Libraries and Archives Council (MLA) has developed a new programme to raise NQTs' confidence in promoting children's literature and regional library services. Experienced librarians will train newcomers in how to get more out of books and make the most of resources, including authors and literature festivals.

The librarians' findings will be used to determine whether the project could be extended to promote books across the whole school. A consultant has been appointed to draw up training materials, and an initial evaluation period will run until September 2006.
