Bonus EMAs scrapped

Education maintenance allowance (EMA) bonus payments are to be ditched in order to pay for extending the scheme to a further 80,000 students

Ed Balls, Schools Secretary, said: "Scrapping the EMA bonuses in 201011 is a difficult decision but necessary so that we can pay EMAs to so many more students."
