Children would rather spend time playing with their friends than their parents, who are too bossy and less fun.
A survey of 1,200 children aged seven to 12 by NOP found four in 10 parents wanted to spend an extra hour a day playing with children. But half of children wanted to play more with friends - with dads proving one of the least popular playmates.
The poll was commissioned by the Children's Society and Children's Play Council to mark National Playday which fell on Wednesday this week. See www.playday.org.ukh.
