Bournville College

14th July 1995 at 01:00
An article in The TES last week said that police were called in to investigate claims that Pounds 1 million from Bournville College had been spent on non- existent franchised courses.

This was factually incorrect. Bournville paid only Pounds 140,000 to four franchise providers, which were immediately cancelled after an in-depth investigation by the college. Management called in the police, an action which saved the paying out of almost Pounds 1 million in February.

We apologise to the college for any embarrassment caused.
