Box of Waitrose delights

1st October 2004 at 01:00
Over the summer, staff at the independent, full age range Elvian school (then called Presentation college), in Reading, heard that the administrators had been called in. Despite this, many came in over the summer, with no salary, says last year's form 10X tutor, Moira Harkness, until the Licensed Victuallers Association stepped in and took over the school. Some staff have already left, others gave up secure positions at other schools to replace them, and others chose redundancy or early retirement, or accepted their old jobs at the starting salary. A box of fine wines from Waitrose should help lift their spirits.

The box of 12 bottles, which usually cost pound;75, contains wines from some of the world's best vineyards, and includes a French merlot and Spanish rioja. It is available through John Lewis: For a chance to win Waitrose goodies, just tell us why you and your colleagues deserve them. Send your message, marked Waitrose offer, by email or postcard to the address on the right.
