TES Scotland Schools Gala Concert 2000, November 16, City Hall, Glasgow.

Following the success of the first TES Scotland Schools Gala Concert 1999, held under the auspices of the National Association of Youth Orchestras at City Hall, Glasgow last November, youth music groups are invited to take part in the 2000 event.

Six groups in total will perform in this showcase of the best of Scottish schools music. Each group performs for 15 minutes, playing a repertoire of its choice in the context of an overall balanced programme for the evening.

Orchestras and instrumental or vocal ensembles of high quality ae invited to submit a recent recording - tape, video or CD - in application for participation in the Schools Gala Concert 2000, to be held on Thursday November 16 at City Hall, Glasgow.

The groups which took part in 1999 were Fife Youth Concert Band, Lochaber Strings, Aberdeen City Youth Brass Band, Strathclyde Arts Centre Big Band, The Fair City Singers (Perth) and Lothian Schools Strathspey and Reel Society.

If you want an informal chat first, ring the National Association of Youth Orchestras: 0131 221 1927. Submissions should be sent to NAYO at Central Hall, West Tollcross, Edinburgh EH3 9BP.
