Btec in English

14th December 2007 at 00:00
Edexcel, which owns the Btec suite, has no plans to develop a Btec English qualification (TES, December 7). However, we believe that a qualification which develops good reading, writing and oral skills in students for whom the GCSE English language or literature options may not be appropriate would be well received.

Stevie Pattison-Dick, Head of corporate communications, Edexcel, London.
